MUMBAI: A consumer forum has ordered a housing society to pay Rs 75,000 to a flat owner who complained that a persistent leakage problem damaged his flat from 2013 to 2016. The forum held that negligence by the society had caused mental harassment and the flat owner must be compensated.
Ruling in favor of the flat owner, Vinod Natesan (51), the forum said, “It is clear that there was negligence on the part of the opponent (The Mahindra Park Co-operative Housing Society Ltd) which clearly shows that there is a deficiency in service for which the complainant must be awarded damages due to mental and physical agony.” Read More...
